Summer has definitely arrived and with it folks from all over are planning their migration to Lake Tahoe. There are a myriad of activities scheduled to keep you, your friends, and family entertained , so I thought we would throw out some things you may want to check out.
Tomorrow, Thursday, June 12 is the deck opening party for Caliente Restaurant in Kings Beach. Billed as the “Ruckus on the Rooftop” from 5-7pm it is an “all you can eat Caliente Buffet” with live music for $15 dollars. Caliente is the sister restaurant to the infamous Gar Woods in Tahoe Vista. Known for their spectacular lakeside dining and pier….oh yea, and their signature drink “The Wet Woody” The Gar Wood deck opening party is next Wednesday, June 18th.
If you have not checked out The Crystal Bay Casino you should. Lots of things going on there all the time. Every Tuesday night is comedy night, and you can drop in for some great stand up. Last night I went with some friends to see Will Durst, the political satirist. Will was wildly entertaining, and so were the two talented warm up acts who opened for him. There is a full moon next week and if you are 55+ you can join the Incline Senior Full Moon Hike on Monday June 16th. For $6, $11for non-residents, you can enjoy a hike to the Crystal Bay Fire Lookout and a wine and cheese social from 7:30-10:00p.m. For more info visit www.InclineRecreation.com
On select Thursdays throughout the summer the “Starlight Cinema Family Barbecue and Movie night is held at Inclines’ Aspen Grove. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a barbecue and a feature movie. Starts at 7p.m. and cost $10 per person or $20 for a family of four.
The 2nd annual “Red, White and Tahoe Blue” is scheduled for July 2-4th in Incline Village. It is three days of fun and festivities, with profits going to various community organizations. The Reno Philharmonic will perform on the Village Green July the 4th, in concert with the fireworks display. There is a town parade, an ice cream social, rubber duck races, golf tournaments and more.
